A house built in 1777, still lived in today.
In 1777, Thakur Jagat Singh was granted the estate of Khinwara in place of Pali. The family made this house their seat, and the name Palinath Khinwara has remained ever since.
Generations later, the Mahal is still a family home. Its doors are now open to guests who wish to stay within its walls and experience Khinwara from the inside.
Not a museum. A living house
The arches, courtyards, rooms and old walls are not simply things to preserve. They are part of everyday life at the Mahal — a house cared for by the family that has called Khinwara home for generations.

Discover Khinwara at its own pace
Khinwara is a small village in the Godwad region of Rajasthan — a place best understood slowly. Walk its lanes, meet its people and look beyond the familiar routes of Rajasthan.
Stay for the house. Leave with a story.
There is no need to hurry here. Take breakfast slowly. Sit beneath the old walls. Share a meal. Walk through the village. Listen to the stories. Let the house set the pace.

A few words from those who stayed with us.
“A really special place. We spent time exploring the village and then came back to the Mahal for dinner. It was exactly the slower Rajasthan experience we were hoping for.”
